今日の翡翠…約3週間ぶりに番で姿を見せました！

The kingfisher pair appeared on their perch after about three weeks!

一枚も野鳥を撮影することなく探鳥ウォーキングを終えようとするころ、いつもの池のポイントでほとんど期待もせずカワセミの姿を探すと逆光状態の中に見慣れたシルエットが見えました。

カワセミの姿を確認し撮影できたのは3月24日に交尾を観察して以来です。

求愛行動のようにも思われる動きと鳴き合いが観察できました。

以前のと同じ番だとしたら、この行動の意味が分かりません。

違う番だとしたら、これから繁殖活動に入るのでしょうか。

As I was about to finish my bird watching walk without capturing a single bird, I looked for a kingfisher at the usual spot by the pond with little expectation, and saw a familiar silhouette in backlit conditions.

I was able to confirm and capture the kingfisher’s appearance since observing their mating behavior on March 24th.

I was able to observe movements and calls that seemed like courtship behavior.

If it is the same pair as before, I don’t understand the meaning of this behavior.

If it’s a different pair, does this mean they are going into breeding season?
