Feeling the visit of spring from an Adonis budding out of the snow
およそ２週間ぶりに山のフィールドに行ってきました。
ここは野鳥だけでなく自然風景や山野草も撮影できる機会があるところなのでとても気に入っている場所です。
一番のお目当ては、雪の中に咲く福寿草です。ということは、寒いはずです。完全冬装備で出かけました。
I went to the mountain field for the first time in about two weeks.
The field is my favorite one because it can offer opportunities to take pictures not only of wild birds but also of natural landscapes and mountain wildflowers.
My main objective was to see an Adonis budding out of snow; that meant it would be very cold up there, so I went out fully equipped for winter.

期待通り、雪はありました。しかし、寒すぎたのか、それとも時季が早すぎたのか、ほとんど花は開きませんでした。
There was snow on the ground as expected. However, either because it was too cold or because it was too early in the season, most of the Adonis did not bloom.

The willow tit is a small bird that is difficult to spot in a town park.
オオアカゲラ｜White-backed Woodpecker
オオアカゲラはこの同じフィールドで昨年の8月に初見初撮りして以来の出合いです。
This is the first encounter with the White-backed Woodpecker since first sighting and capturing it in this same field in August of last year.

あとがき｜Wrap-UP
マイナス３℃の中、野鳥たちの活動はまだそれほど活発にはなっていませんでした。
それでも、ほとんど鳥の姿も見えず鳴き声も聞こえなかった冬期とは明らかに違い、遠くからですが何種類かの鳥を確認することができましたし鳴き声も同じくらい聞くことができました。
このフィールドでのこれからのバードウォッチングが楽しみです。
In the minus 3°C weather, the activity of the wild birds was not yet very lively.
Still, it was clearly different from the winter period when hardly any birds were seen or heard.
I was able to identify several kinds of birds from a distance and hear their calls as well.
I’m looking forward to birdwatching in this field from now on.
