Katakuri Flowers: Spring Fairies Gather on the Sun-Dappled Forest Floor
今日の山のフィールドは、明るい林床から春の妖精たちのおしゃべりが聞こえてきそうな雰囲気でした。
春の妖精の代表格、カタクリの花がそこかしこと次々に蕾を開き始めていました。
ピンクの可憐なカタクリの花には人の気持ちを明るくする力があるようです。
鑑賞する我々も自然と笑みになります。
The field of the mountain today had an atmosphere that made me feel like I could hear the chatter of spring fairies from the bright forest floor.
The representative of spring fairies, the flowers of katakuri, were starting to open their buds one after another.
The lovely pink katakuri flowers seem to have the power to brighten people’s feelings.
We who appreciate them also naturally smile.

カタクリ｜Dogtooth Violet, Katakuri
次は、【Biogon 25mm R2.8】で撮影した作品です。絞りはF5.6で撮影しているのですが、ボケが綺麗でアウトフォーカス部分は柔らかい描写になっていますね。このレンズでカタクリを撮影すると仕上がりがとても美しいです。
The following is a piece shot with the Biogon 25mm R2.8. Although it was shot at F5.6, the bokeh is beautiful and the out-of-focus areas have a soft depiction. When taking dogtooth violets with this lens, the finished product is very beautiful.

前回と同様に、今回も求愛行動の”ディスプレイ”をしていたようです。

カタクリは例年と同じくらいの数が咲いているようです。
当日咲いたばかりの個体もあれば、前日あるいは前々日に咲いたものもあります。
そういうたくさんの花の中から写真写りのよいフレッシュな個体を探すことができれば、作品としては半分成功したようなものです。
その点が山野草撮影において一番肝心なところです。
It seems that the same number of dogtooth violets are blooming this year as usual.
There are some that just bloomed on the day of observation, while others bloomed one or two days prior.
If one can find a fresh individual with good photographic qualities among the many flowers, the work is half successful as a piece.
That is the most crucial point in photographing wildflowers.
