Daily Observations Strongly Indicate Kingfisher Breeding Activity!

３年前から始まった公園の改修工事のために多くの木が伐採され、歴代のカワセミたちが縄張りとしてきた池の環境も大きく変わってしまいました。

以前はこの池はワセミに余計なプレッシャーを与えることなく繁殖活動の各段階をかなり詳細に把握することができる理想的な場所でした。

しかし、今季は観察が難しいのでカワセミが与えてくれるいろいろなヒントをつなぎ合わせて今どういう繁殖過程にあるのかを推測するしかありません。

身を隠す場所が少なくなったカワセミも可哀想ですが、我々バーダーも忍耐を要求される観察と撮影になりそうです。

Many trees have been cut down due to the park renovation project that started three years ago, and the environment of the pond that has been the territory of generations of kingfishers has also changed drastically.

This pond used to be an ideal place where we could grasp in detail each stage of kingfisher breeding activity without giving them unnecessary pressure.

However, this season it has become difficult to observe the kingfishers as we used to, so we have no choice but to piece together various hints they give us to guess what stage of the breeding process they are currently in.

It’s unfortunate that the kingfishers have fewer places to hide, but as bird watchers, we must be patient while observing and photographing them.
