今日の”花鳥風月”…ミソサザイのディスプレイ（求愛行動）初観察に感動！

Moved by my first observation of a wren’s courtship display!

ミソサザイが翼を広げ、尾羽根も扇のように広げ激しく動かすシーンに出くわしました。

初めはミソサザイがライバルを威嚇しているのかと思ったのですが、観察するうちにメスにアピールする”ディスプレイ”を行っているのだと分かりました。

ミソサザイのこうした求愛行動は初めて見たのでとても幸運だったと思います。

I came across a scene where a wren spread its wings and vigorously moved its tail feathers, fanning them out like a handheld fan.

At first, I thought the wren was intimidating a rival, but upon further observation, I realized it was performing a “display” to appeal to the female.

I feel fortunate to have witnessed this mating display of a wren for the first time.

ディスプレイのシーンでは、飛行機のように翼を左右に大きく広げた姿も観察したのですが、うまく撮影できませんでした。

滅多にないシーンだったのでとても悔しい思いをしています。

２回めのチャンスが有ることを期待したいと思います。

During the display scene, I also observed the wren spreading its wings widely from side to side, like an airplane, but I was unable to capture it on camera.

It was such a rare sight, and I feel very disappointed about missing the opportunity.

I hope for another chance to see it again.
