「花の命は短い」とよく言われますが、カタクリの花も例外ではありません。

妖精にも例えられるカタクリが咲き始めると明るい林床がいっそう明るくなるような気がします。

花の盛りをすぎるとどことなく林床に寂しい雰囲気が漂い始めます。

「嗚呼、今季はこれが見納めになるのかも」と思いながら、観察者は春の妖精たちの最後の姿をカメラに収めるのです。

It is often said that the life of a flower is short, and Katakuri flowers are no exception.

When the fairy-like Katakuri blooms, the bright forest floor seems to become even brighter.

However, once the flowers have passed their peak, a somewhat lonely atmosphere begins to permeate the forest floor.

As observers capture the final appearance of the spring fairies on camera, they may think, ‘Ah, this may be the last time I see this season’s Katakuri bloom.

あとがき｜Wrap-UP

カタクリが咲くような林の光と影は基本的には木漏れ日がもたらすものなので、緩やかでも風が吹いている限り同じ光線状態はありえません。

ちょっとした光の当たり方で雰囲気が変わりますから、我々撮影者は貪欲にシャッターを切るべきだろうと思います。

The light and shadow in a forest where Katakuri blooms are generally created by the filtering of sunlight through the trees, so the lighting conditions are never the same as long as there is even a slight breeze.

As the atmosphere can change with just a slight shift in the way the light falls, we as photographers should be eager to capture the scene with our shutters clicking away.
